KYLE JONES is not prepared to allow recent 'hiccups' choke Braehead's title surge.

The EIHL league leaders have suffered two bumps in their last three games, firstly going out of the Challenge Cup to Coventry Blaze before going down 6-3 away to the Nottingham Panthers on Sunday night.

They are two results that were hard to take for a Clan side desperate to realise their dream of finally winning the league title.

And Braehead goalie Jones reassured SportTimes these defeats have not derailed their ambitions or confidence.

He said: "Preparations for this weekend have been good. Obviously we had the little hiccup on Sunday but we got back to work on Tuesday.

"It's about not letting things get to you, especially as you are coming down the stretch like we are at the moment.

"We have around 15 games left and our goal is to win the league. We dropped points on Sunday but you have to look forward make sure you win these two games this weekend.

"Everyone's goal here is to win trophies, and the league is in our sights now.

He added: "It was disappointing to be knocked out in the Challenge Cup, but Coventry played a great game so hats off to them.

"But now it's time to move on, focus, and win the league."

Tomorrow night Clan welcome Hull Stingrays to the Braehead Arena before travelling to Tayside to face the Dundee Stars.

Ryan Finnerty's men will only have 14 games to go until the end of the season after this weekend's double header.

And Jones insists his eyes are on the prize and that starts with focusing on a four-point haul in the next two days.

He said: "We are ready for a Hull team who have played really well recently.

"Dundee have been playing well lately too, they are a dangerous team. They have a lot of skill and we need to be prepared.

"It's a game we need. We need to make the points up.

"You try your best not to look too far ahead and too much into what you could win. The most important thing for us is Hull tomorrow, winning that game, and moving it on to Dundee on Sunday."
