German Martin Kaymer has been inspired by his country's footballers as he bids to maintain his glorious form at this week's Open Championship.
Kaymer's emphatic win at last month's US Open came just a day before Germany began their triumphant World Cup campaign with a 4-0 demolition of Portugal.
Now, just days after Joachim Low's men overcame Argentina in the final in Rio, fresh from hammering Brazil 7-1, Kaymer is looking to achieve even more in Hoylake.
Kaymer said: "The win is one thing, that they won the World Cup, but it was also the way they played.
"They kept going and they had so much belief. So it's a great inspiration for me as an athlete."
