A photo-finish for first place ended a thrilling chase in the Drummond Trophy cycle race at Strathaven yesterday.
Seventy riders including Edinburgh's Evan Oliphant of Team Raleigh and brothers Dean and Russ Downing of the NFTO UCI Team took part in the 57th running of the event over seven laps of the 12-mile Drumclog circuit.
A four-man lead group quickly broke away but with one loop left that dropped to two, with David Clarke of Manchester-based KTM Road and Trail edging out Pete Murdoch of Paisley Velo Race Team Elite.
