ODEON clearly has the ability to win a nice prize and if Graham Lee can finally master his headstrong tendencies, he would have a solid chance in the Londonmetric Noel Murless Stakes at Ascot.

James Given's charge certainly boasts a stayer's pedigree, as a full brother to Leger second Kite Wood, but his progress appears to have been dramatically arrested by the fact he gets very wound up before a race and refuses to settle whilst running.

Winner of a Redcar maiden to date, he has a few nice pieces of form, including a three-length fourth behind The Grey Gatsby in the Dante.

He subsequently disappointed at Ascot when far too keen in the King Edward VII Stakes and was also beaten in a Listed race at Hamilton after that.

However, he turned in an improved effort when third, albeit beaten eight lengths in the Voltigeur last time, after again sweating up badly in the preliminaries and going off in front.

The winner, Postponed, is viewed as a sharp middle- distance prospect for next year, while runner-up Snow Sky subsequently placed in the Leger - a race in which Odeon was due to run until he was withdrawn at the start as he was wearing an undeclared hood.

Given had put plenty of work into trying to get the colt to settle in the build-up to that run so hopefully his efforts can pay off here instead and Odeon can channel his efforts in a thoroughly productive manner.

He has a bit to find with Marzocco and Big Orange on the official ratings but he had the first-named behind him at York and can confirm the form here.

Mr Win has triumphed on two of his last three starts and can live up to his name again in the Faithdean Handicap.

He dealt with a 6lb hike when scoring at Newmarket last month and does not look to be finished just yet.
