Lanark golfer Pamela Pretswell is taking inspiration from an old pals' act as she looks to make her mark on the Ladies European Tour.

The 25-year-old tees up in this week's Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open at Archerfield in purposeful mood after watching close friend Kylie Walker enjoy a double Scotch on the women's circuit.

Glasgow ace Walker won her maiden Tour title in Holland in May before beating English star Charley Hull in a play-off to win last month's German Open.

Pretswell, a former British Women's Amateur Strokeplay champ, said: "Kylie has been unbelievable this season. I missed the cut in that Dutch event and I watched her during the final round.

"She played some of the best golf I've seen. She was my best pal on the amateur circuit and we played together for both Scotland and GB&I.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she won again this season and watching someone you know doing so well is great inspiration."

Pretswell secured her Tour card for next season with an 11th place finish in Prague, when she played in the final group on the final day for the first time.

She added: "It was nice to get a taste of what that is like and I thought I handled it pretty well."

Pretswell, who finished fourth in last season's Ladies Scottish Open, will be joined in the field this week by the in-form Walker as well as defending champion Catriona Matthew.
