GLASGOW TIGERS captain Theo Pijper says his side has the track knowledge to get a result at Edinburgh tonight.

The speedway side head east to Armadale in the Premier League to face a Monarchs side who have rarely been beaten this year. But Pijper, 34, believes Edinburgh No.1 Craig Cook has dipped in form.

And the Dutchman - a former Armadale track record holder and title winner with Edinburgh - insists there has been no better time this season for the Tigers to collect a long-awaited win against their Scottish rivals.

Pijper said: "The whole year so far, we have struggled with a number one, so we need to pull our fingers out to go there.

"Their top man is struggling a little bit, so now is the time to go there and do something.

"We could get a result. I've been there a couple of times and the track was not suited to me, then I was guesting for another team and the track was absolutely superb and I scored many points. I hope the track is that way tonight.

"It's either a hit or a miss, because you're not riding there every week so it's totally different for us to go as an away rider.

"We have the experience to ride the track, so if we can make our starts work and keep in front of them, I'll be quite happy."

Ninth-placed Tigers face Rye House at Ashfield on Sunday, still with an outside chance of making the play-offs.

However, that dream may only be realised should they gather some big away points tonight, next Saturday at Workington or at Peterborough on September 9.
