GLASGOW Tigers again fell victim to the weather yesterday when their double-header at Ashfield was rained off.

The speedway outfit had been due to take on Workington Comets then Berwick Bandits to round off their final two outstanding fixtures.

But rain left the track sodden and, with further downpours forecast, club officials decided to call off the matches.

With a deadline of October 31 for league ties, Tigers have only a few days left to rearrange the fixtures. Further details are expected today.

If the matches don't go ahead, Glasgow's season will end with them sitting 11th out of 13 teams in the Premier League.

GOLF: Thorbjorn Olesen from Denmark scored a final-round 71 to pip the French Ryder Cup hero Victor Dubuisson to the Perth International title in Australia.

There was joy, too, for Scot David Drysdale, who holed a 30ft putt at the last hole to finish joint fourth in the final event of the regular season and secure his European Tour card for next year.

The delighted 39-year-old Dunbar pro said after his round: "To see that putt drop was unbelievable. I am still shaking."

Craig Lee also held on to his card but his fellow Scots Jamie McLeary, Jack Doherty and Peter Whiteford all missed out.
