GLASGOW ROCKS went on a three-point blitz last night to demolish BBL strugglers Surrey United 111-75 and move to the brink of a spot in the play-offs.

Sterling Davis' men converted 15 of their 24 long-range attempts in Guildford to tighten their grip on sixth place in the standings as Tayo Ogedengbe fired a game-high 19 points.

It helped shake off some early resistance from the league's bottom side who led briefly before a 17-4 run in the second quarter sent Glasgow racing clear.

And after eight straight points helped the Rocks ease 57-38 in front at half-time, another 8-0 burst late in the fourth pushed the visitors as much as 108-71 ahead.

Reggie Middleton piled up 14 points and 11 assists, with Dale Grieve adding 12 points off the bench for the Scots who host Plymouth Raiders tomorrow.

"We have to be mentally tough and approach each game with the intention of coming out with two points for the league standings," said Rocks guard Tommy Freeman. "It always adds a challenge playing five games in ten days but we can't feel sorry for ourselves."

Elsewhere, Rashad Hassan scored 31 as Leicester Riders kept their slim title hopes alive by fighting off a late rally to see off London Lions 87-81.

RESULTS - BBL: Surrey United 75 Glasgow Rocks 111, Leicester Riders 87 London Lions 81.
