Glasgow Rocks player-coach Sterling Davis has called on his team to save their season by avenging their BBL Trophy final defeat to Worcester Wolves tonight but the American admits he's bracing himself for another letdown.

A win - and a loss for rivals Manchester at Sheffield - would lift Glasgow to eighth place in the BBL and leave them needing to beat lowly Surrey on Sunday to clinch a play-off berth.

Rocks are on the brink of the worst finish in club history but Davis is praying for an unlikely boost.

He said: "If we wanted it to come down to the wire, then we got it. We now have to focus on Worcester and see what everyone else does before we face Surrey on Sunday. Worcester will want to finish second so they'll make it tough for us. It's not going to be easy. But either we come out focused or we don't."

With Plymouth - who visit London - scrapping with Glasgow, Manchester and Durham for the last two play-off spots, Rocks will have to contend with a Worcester side which can still overhaul Sheffield to finish runners-up.

But with the recent Trophy loss still fresh in his thoughts, Davis wants his side to channel their frustrations to thwart the Wolves.

"I would like to think this will be motivation for our guys," he said. "It was our biggest game of this season and we let it slip when it was within grasp, so hopefully we can go in with a revenge mindset to push through."
