Saoi looks the one at Wolverhampton

SAOI has few miles on the clock for a horse of his age and merits plenty of interest as he goes in search of a second win on the bounce at Wolverhampton.

The six-year-old has had just seven starts to date, winning one of three outings for Jim Bolger in Ireland before transferring to the care of William Knight last year.

An initial third last June promised much but Saoi was then off the track until November, when he made a dismal return in finishing last of 11 runners.

However, that run seemed to set him straight as he was only narrowly beaten in third next time before finally hitting the target over the Festive period.

His length defeat of Sakhee's Pearl that day turned around previous form and the patient ride he received clearly shows he is one who finishes fast.

A 5lb rise looks reasonable enough and he is one to follow as he makes a first trip to Dunstall Park.

Storm Runner struck gold on New Year's Eve and can kick off 2013 with victory at Lingfield.

He relishes the mile test at the Surrey venue and will be seeking a third win on the bounce after two quickfire wins in December.

He defied a penalty to win by just over two lengths last time and given his strong finishing thrust that day, Storm Runner could still have a little something in the locker in the Follow Us On Twitter At LingfieldPark Handicap.

Meanwhile, Betfred and Totepool have signed deals with 31 Racecourse Media Group racetracks, plus Ascot, to provide pool betting services and on-course betting shops.

The courses include Cheltenham, Aintree, Newmarket, Epsom, York, Newbury, Goodwood, Sandown and Ascot, which will join RMG in June 2014.

The pool betting arrangement means the on-course Totepool betting service will remain at those circuits until at least July 2018.

All on-course betting shops will now be operated by Betfred for the same term.
