SCOTS swimmer Duncan Scott insists he is raring to go it alone in Nanjing after he was left wanting more from his Youth Olympic Games bow.

The Commonwealth Games 4x200m freestyle silver medallist took part yesterday in the 4x100m mixed team event.

Joined by Charlotte Atkinson, Martyn Walton and Amelia Maughan, the quartet got through their heat in 3:35.41.

Last night 17-year-old Scott and his team-mates went almost two seconds faster in the final as they finished in sixth place.

But the Grangemouth ASC member was disappointed with his leg and is determined to do better in today's 200m medley and freestyle heats.

Scott said: "I did a time of just over 50 seconds for the eighth or ninth time this season, which just isn't good enough.

"I am disappointed as I'd have liked to have gone under 50 seconds.

"I am happy with how the team swam as a whole because going in we were ranked seventh or eighth, so we improved on that.

"I just wish I had gone a little faster."

Scott arrived in China last Tuesday but doesn't want the experience to end any time soon.

He added: "It is a great competition to be part of. I have my big double with the 200m medley and freestyle. It'll be a big day but I'm looking forward to it."
