Stephen Maguire has replaced John Higgins as Scotland's top snooker player after climbing one place to No.13 in the new world rankings.
The Milton pro reached the Ruhr Open semi-finals in Germany on Sunday, while Higgins slipped to 14th after exiting in round two. Larkhall's Graeme Dott fell at the first hurdle and has dropped out of the top 16 in 17th.
Meanwhile, Dumbarton veteran Marcus Campbell and Perth youngster Scott Donaldson go head-to-head in an all-tartan first round clash at the UK Championship in York today.
In other ties, ex-world champion Dott faces Swiss player Alex Ursenbacher, Alan McManus meets Joel Walker, Michael Leslie takes on Robert Milkins and Ross Muir opens against former world and UK champ Peter Ebdon.
