GLASGOW Tigers have named five of the men who will line up for them next year and hinted there could be more big stars to come.

Australian Nick Morris, 20, is the headline-grabber as he

returns to the club that gave him his British speedway debut as a raw 16-year-old rider in 2010.

Morris then won the Premier League with Tigers in 2011 and has since bagged a whole host of team trophies across Britain,

including in the top-tier Elite League with Swindon.

Joining Morris will be fellow Aussie Kozza Smith, 26, who was forced to sit out the 2014 season when he was refused a UK visa.

Smith, on an average of more than seven points, will provide back-up for the heat leaders.

French teenager Dimitri Berge makes a return to the stripes for 2015 and will start in the main body of the team.

The 19-year-old talent was forced on to the sidelines for a most of 2014 after a horror spill at Ashfield in his debut season following hugely impressive displays in his early appearances.

Tigers have also beaten off strong competition to capture the signature of 21-year-old

Englishman James Sarjeant as the first of their two reserves.

He impressed for Coventry Bees last season as part of the Elite League's fast-track system and his all-action style should suit the Ashfield circuit.

The fifth man is 21-year-old Swede Victor Palovaara, 21, who joined the Tigers last season.

He'll start in second reserve position, leaving Glasgow with two spaces to fill and more than 15 points to play with - enough for two more heat leaders.

Glasgow team manager Stewart Dickson gained permission to sign Morris from parent club Swindon and also from Somerset, who he raced for in 2014, and believes he can get the best out of him.

He said: "We did a deal with him very quickly. He lost nearly a point on his average last year, and that's a reason why I wanted to get him up here. I think I can get that back up to a decent average.

"He's someone that knows the track, he knows the script. He's well aware that it's going to be exciting times for the club and we're looking for big things from him.

"Folk have got to remember he's only 20 - he's still young and he's got time to go yet. He'll do the business for us."

Dickson continued: "Kozza had one year out a few years back with a serious injury that took him out for a whole year, and then he missed out with the visa last year. He has very much got improvement in him.

"He's coming back on a 7.15 average. He's one of the characters of the Premier League, entertainment-wise, and he really mixes with the fans big-time. From that point of view, he'll be good.

"Characters are lacking in the sport, particularly since Shane Parker left us, so I'm looking forward to having Kozza on board - he's really excited, he's really up for it. One thing he stipulated was that he wanted to be in a team that was challenging for honours. While you can never guarantee it, we think that the team we're putting together will do that."

Berge was always high on the list to return next year since his sensational start to 2014 and Dickson's delighted to have got his man, who is now a Tigers asset.

"He's going to start in the main body of the team - not something I think will bother him," the club boss said. "I think he can handle that.

"Every rider, we want to have an injury-free season. You can never guarantee it, but at the same time, he needs it to get him going again. I'm looking forward to working with him again. He's a nice kid, and he can only get better.

"If he can get back to the form he was showing before that horrendous crash at Ashfield, it's safe to say we'll be onto a winner for him."

"Victor had to come back," Dickson added. "It would have been folly to bring him in on a seven, see him drop his average and not bring him back. I know there were one or two clubs sniffing around him.

"I think he's going to be decent value on a three. With his own equipment, starting at reserve, we're hoping for big things from him."

On Sarjeant's signing, he said: "Watching him ride Coventry, with the dirt around the fence, I thought: that boy is tailor-made for Ashfield with the way the track's set up now.

"He's only young, he's going to improve, and I think we've got a youthful-looking team now. I thought the whole thing needed freshened up a bit and we've made wholesale changes.

"James is only going to get better in the sport, there was a glut of clubs after his signature, but we've got him and we're pretty pleased about that. I'm looking forward to working with him."

It leaves two more spaces to fill and more than 15 points to play with - enough for two more heatleaders.

And Dickson added: "That is the plan. You would normally say it looks slightly top-heavy, having two three-pointers at reserve. But these aren't just two ordinary three-pointers - there's a difference.

"The fact that we've got them both, I think is quite significant in our team-building."
