KEVIN Wolbert says Glasgow Tigers have finally found their team spirit - just at the right time of the season.

The Ashfield side are in the unlikely position of still being able to sneak into the Premier League play-offs and face a crucial tie at Peterborough tonight.

Only the league's top six will battle it out for the title. Glasgow have three meetings before Sunday's play-off deadline, two of which are away from home, and will likely need to win at least one of those before defeating Edinburgh at Ashfield.

It's a tough ask for a side who have been inconsistent this season, but Wolbert insists that the camaraderie in the camp can help them get there.

The in-form German, who scored 14 against Workington on Sunday, said: "At the start of the year we had too many injuries.

"A rider would crash and a new rider would come in or there would be rider replacement.

"You never had a team feeling because every week you had a different rider at the tapes.

"Just now, everybody is scoring well - and we're good friends.

"It's the end of the season and we're just enjoying it."

Wolbert says he isn't fazed by the prospect of going for a win on the road - as long as the Tigers keep things simple this evening.

He added: "I have had good results at Peterborough when I rode there in the Elite League.

"It's an easy track, so if you make the start you just keep the speed and it's okay."

Peterborough and Glasgow are joined on 30 points from 24 matches ahead of tonight's match.

The two other sides likely to be in the mix for sixth place are Workington and Newcastle - the former being the favourites to make it with several matches still to race this week.
