JUDD Trump came back from the brink to set up a quarter-final with Graeme Dott at the Betfair Snooker Masters in London.
Now the world No.2 hopes his dramatic success yesterday will breath life into his title ambitions.
Trump, beaten in the first round of the UK Championships last month, looked set for his second shock in successive ranking events as Barry Hawkins raced into a 5-3 lead.
But Trump then took three frames on the bounce, sealing the win with a break of 107.
And with Dott, who earlier in the week battled to a 6-5 win against fellow Scot Stephen Maguire awaiting him in Friday's quarter-final, Trump has high hopes of going deep into the tournament.
