JEREMY NOSEDA caused quite a stir in Dubai with his comments following the narrow defeat of Sloane Avenue but he can make the headlines for the right reasons with Wakea in the Totepool Handicap at Chelmsford.

Sloane Avenue very nearly overcame the car park draw of 15 in the Godolphin Mile, only to be beaten in a photograph by the hot favourite Tamarkuz.

Wakea only faces six rivals and is racing over a mile and five furlongs, so the draw should not come into this.

As usual for one from this yard he is nicely bred, being by Cape Cross out of a Kingmambo mare, but what is already obvious is that he needs a trip.

Sent off at 25-1 for his debut over 10 furlongs at Windsor in June he shaped well when fourth of 16 and opened his account over a mile and a half at Kempton next time out.

Narrowly touched off at Doncaster on his final start last summer, he reappeared this year with an easy win over one-mile-six at Wolverhampton.

Even that day, having his fourth start, he still looked to have plenty to learn, but the 6lb rise should not stop him and Noseda might have races like the Ebor on the agenda later this year.

It could be a decent day for the Shalfleet handler as he also looks to have several decent chances at Kempton.

In the feature 32Red On The App Store Handicap, Ian's Memory looks sure to go close.

Lightly raced, he had been steadily progressing bar a blip at Newmarket last season but new tactics saw him open his account at Southwell last time out.

He has only gone up 2lb for that success and in a big field there should be a strong pace for him to run at, which evidently suits.

Aussie Andre has only had two runs and is now four so has obviously been hard to train but looks the one to beat in the 32Red.com Maiden Stakes.

Only ninth on his debut last year, he has only had one run in all that time since when second at Kempton in March.

The fact Noseda is persevering suggests he is capable of winning races.

Somchine is progressing nicely for Seamus Mullins and can follow up a recent victory in the winner.co.uk Handicap Chase at Wincanton.

The seven-year-old has struck in three of his five starts this season, all for Andrew Thornton, who is ploughing on in his quest for 1,000 winners.

Milgen Bay has been off the track since he was successful at Huntingdon in October but can return to action with a win in the Try gg.com On Your Mobile Handicap Chase at Towcester.
