RANGERS hold the world record for league title wins with 54, but in season 1989-90 they had to recover from a poor start to go on and win the championship after beating Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice…

NORRIE (Mountblow) – I remember Rangers winning the Premier League at Tannadice in 1990. Can you remind me of the Rangers team?

On Saturday, April 21, 1990, Rangers beat Dundee United 1-0 at Tannadice to clinch the League title.

A Trevor Steven goal in the second half was enough to take the trophy to Ibrox.

A remarkable achievement, considering at one stage they were eight points off the pace.

The Rangers team was: Woods, Stevens, Munro, Gough, Spackman, Butcher, Steven, D. Ferguson, McCoist, Johnston and Walters.

DAVID (Bridge of Allan) – What was Jock Stein’s first ever trophy win at Celtic?

Jock won the Scottish Cup 3-2 against Dunfermline in April 1965 after only taking up the managers’ role a month earlier.

But in March 1958 he had led his Celtic reserve team to victory against Rangers in the 2nd XI Cup by an aggregate score of 8-2.

IAN GARRITY (Greenock) – Can you find out the latest news about the regeneration of Third Lanark Football Club? Is there any progress, are there still plans to bring the old club back from the dead, or is it R.I.P.?

As you know, Third Lanark A.C. went bankrupt and ceased to exist in 1967. At that time there was no attempt to revive the club and many of their fans went to see Pollok on Saturdays instead of the Hi-Hi.

A new amateur club called Third Lanark formed in 1996 and they currently play within the Greater Glasgow Amateur League structure and at present play their home games at Fullarton Park, the home of Vale of Clyde F.C.

Currently a group of football enthusiasts and business figures led by Ian Alexander, John Sweeney and Pat McGeady, uncle of former Celtic star Aiden, are planning to restore the club to its former glory and redevelop Cathkin Park.

Thirds are planning to build a new 2000-seater stand as well as training pitches and a car park at their spiritual home.

The club currently has a supporters club and a youth academy and are always looking to attract new supporters to their cause. You can keep up to date with all the latest from the Hi-Hi at http://www.thirdlanarkafccommunity.co.uk/
