Morton boss Jim Duffy was delighted with the Greenock side's 2-1 win away to Queen of the South on Saturday afternoon.
The victory puts Morton into joint third spot, just two points behind league leaders Dunfermline and a point off St Mirren.
An opener from Ross Forbes and a Jose Quitongo strike made it back-to-back wins for Morton wand Duffy believes finding that level of consistency as the season progresses will be key to remaining in the top half of the table.
"It was an outstanding result for us," he enthused. "It was a very difficult match, both teams went at it. We scored two outstanding goals and in the second half we had to defend and be thankful for our goalkeeper, who pulled off two excellent saves.
"Anybody who doesn't watch [the Championship] doesn't understand how even and how competitive it is. There are mistakes and moments of brilliance. All credit to Queen of the South, they threw everything at us in the second half, but we defended our corners and our goalkeeper was on top form. It was our turn to come away with the three points."
And Duffy also believes that Quintongo is a player who can go on and play at a higher level.
"The second goal was fantastic at any level of football," said the Morton manager. "He's an entertainer, Jai, and there's plenty more to come from him. He's playing with a smile again and we know we have a talent.
"There's not too much between the teams. Of course, teams will eventually find the consistency to take them to the level where they're challenging. All we're trying to do just now is get points on the board, get some belief and confidence and see where that takes us."
