BACK-to-back defeats on the summer tour of South and Central America have seen Scotland fall by eight places in the latest FIFA ranking.
Alex McLeish's side were beaten 2-0 by Peru and 1-0 by Mexico in two much-disputed friendly matches ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
The results leave the Scots in 42nd place, with Morocco, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Congo DR among the nations overtaking them.
There was little change at the top with Germany remaining in first and Brazil and Belgium behind them in second and third respectively.
The only change in the top 10 saw Poland rise two places up to eighth, while Spain dropped to number 10.
England moved up one spot to 12th and Wales rose to 18th but Northern Ireland fell two places to number 29.
