ABDUL OSMAN has no complaints over the penalty call which condemned Partick Thistle to defeat against Aberdeen on Sunday.

The midfielder was penalised for handball after Mark Reynolds' header struck him at point blank range on the half-hour mark at Firhill.

The decision came after a controversial call that saw whistler Willie Collum and his assistants rule that David Goodwillie was not in an offside position when Cammy Smith put the ball back into the Jags area.

Keeper Paul Gallacher was unhappy with that call, but Osman admits the handball decision was probably correct.

He said: "At the time I thought it was harsh because I was quite close.

"But, looking at it again, nowadays anything that hits you in the box is a penalty. It is what it is.

"I couldn't see the corner that led to the goal. I was concentrating on defending the corner.

"But they gave another corner and they got a penalty from it."

Defeat to the Dons leaves Thistle ninth in the Premiership standings as they missed the chance to close the gap on the teams above them.

And Osman was frustrated that they had nothing to show from the Firhill tie.

He said: "It was a disappointing game. I didn't think there was anything in it at all. It was a bad result.

"We worked on in it training to work the keeper and have shots at goal, but it didn't happen.

"We had a few chances, but we didn't get them on target, which was disappointing. We have to get back on the training ground and work on it.

"At the moment we win one and lose one.

"There was nothing between the teams and I think we played well at times, but we didn't get shots on target.

"We will work on it and it will come. There is still a long way to go until the end of the season."
