ALAN ARCHIBALD insists all the pressure is on Celtic ahead of their visit to Firhill tonight.

But the Partick Thistle boss won't allow his players to let their standards drop or attention waver as they look to prove the doubters wrong and cause a derby shock.

Ronny Deila's side make the trip across Glasgow aiming to move three points clear of Aberdeen at the top of the table, and in high spirits following a League Cup-semi-final win over Rangers and a Scottish Cup victory at Dundee.

The Hoops' form is in stark contrast to that of Thistle, who crashed out of the Scottish Cup with a shocking performance against Inverness Caley at the weekend.

It would be one of the upsets of the campaign so far if the Jags were to emerge victorious tonight, but Archibald is keen to defy the odds.

He said: "I don't think there's anything expected from us outside our dressing room. Everybody has just written us off already, so there's very much no pressure on them apart from pressure from myself and our fans to put in a performance.

"It probably does [make it easier for us] because you've got a point to prove on two counts: to prove people wrong and also put things right from the weekend.

"We were very, very poor against Inverness, there's no getting away from that, so there's two things you want to try and improve on.

"I think everyone has [written us off]. When you play Celtic everyone writes you off because they're rampant now and nobody's expecting us to take anything from the game, I don't think.

"We've got to have that belief that we can go and do it. I think Ross County did it when they got a point off them earlier in the season and Hamilton beat them as well, so you've got to be confident."
