ALAN ARCHIBALD admits Partick Thistle will need to keep their cool to avoid another Parkhead nightmare tomorrow.

The Jags crashed to a 6-0 League Cup defeat across Glasgow in October as Stuart Bannigan saw red and Ronny Deila's side ran riot.

And Archibald knows his side must keep 11 men on the park if they are to cause an upset.

He said: "We've got to keep our discipline to give ourselves a chance.

"That was evident again with Hearts on Sunday. It is hard enough to play against Celtic when you have 11 men.

"I didn't think there was much in the first half up until we got a man sent off.

"We spoke about it after the last game and we'll touch on it more before the match tomorrow night.

"We can't afford to get players sent off, but also we need discipline in our shape and to be as rigid as we can."

Thistle shipped five goals in the second half as Celtic made the most of their man advantage.

But Archibald was still upset with how his side went about their business after the break that night.

The Firhill boss said: "Some of the goals we conceded weren't down to having 10 men - it was just bad defending.

"There were a couple of set-plays in there that we couldn't do much about, but we could have done better at the goals from open play. It's a mental thing by then, decision-making. We gave them a couple of goals that were silly at a time when it was damage-limitation.

"We're hoping for a lot more from the lads and it can't be any worse.

"They must remember they did okay in the first half and, if you stay in the game, you've always got a chance."
