PARTICK THISTLE midfielder James Craigen has said an emotional goodbye to the Jags support after being released by the club.

First signed in the summer of 2012, the Englishman went on to rack up over 60 appearances in red and yellow, while also spending a loan spell at Forfar.

He joins Christopher Dillon, Ryan Finnie, Dale Keenan and Ben Richards-Everton who have also left the club.

Taking to Twitter, Craigen said: "Firstly I'd just like to thank everyone for the messages I've received tonight.

"It really does mean such a lot to me. It's been an incredible three years for me at Partick Thistle FC, some of the memories I will never forget.

"I would like to thank the club, the fans for all their support and also my team-mates who have been a pleasure to be around on and off the pitch, it's been a great journey together!"
