Steven Lawless has already got his football focus fixed on the start of the season - even though Thistle's first match is still a month away.

The striker enjoyed a welcome run-out last week in the friendly with FC Pinatara and was happy to clock up an entire 90 minutes.

He said: "It's always in your head and at the moment I'm just trying to get as much out of every game as possible.

"As soon as the list comes out you're looking to see who the first game is against.

"With the Celtic match being postponed it just gives us the extra few days to get everything perfect.

"I had a good chat with the gaffer who gave me a bit of perspective. I had a bit of an up and down season last year, but hopefully I can nail down my place in the team over the next couple of months."
