VICTORY over St Mirren a fortnight ago means that this has been Thistle's best start to a top flight campaign since season 1992/93.

It is an achievement the boys can be proud of but it could have been even better for us.

We have collected 15 points from our first 12 Premiership games and are determined to add another three to that tally when we face Aberdeen tomorrow at Firhill.

Myself and Alan are pleased with how the season has gone so far but when you look at it we know we could - and should - have won more games and collected more points.

St Mirren scored a last- minute penalty against us at home, Hamilton scored a wonder-strike with the last kick of the ball a few weeks ago.

Losing late goals was the story of our campaign last year and it has come back to haunt us at times this season as well.

This good start could have been a great start but I think there are plenty of positives to take.

There is plenty more to come from us this season in terms of performances and points and the players know that as well.

When we have got everyone back fit, the squad will be stronger and there will be more competition for places.

We are coming into a really important stage of the season now and we are looking to put a few results together and move further up the table.

The game against Aberdeen tomorrow will be a difficult one for us but we are looking to kick on after the 1-0 win in Paisley before the international break.

It would have been nice to have had a game last weekend and had a chance to keep up the momentum after a really good win against St Mirren.

We have been on a good run in terms of our performances and with the international fixtures now gone, we can look to hit a sustained run in the coming weeks.

You only need to win two or three games in a row in this league for it to make a really big difference and we need to continue our form this weekend.

Derek McInnes has a really good squad at his disposal and Aberdeen are, for me, the second-best team in the Premiership but it is a home fixture and one that we can win.

We have been scoring goals at Firhill and hopefully we can continue that tomorrow.

The game up at Pittodrie earlier in the season was a really disappointing one for us and we know we are better than what we showed that day.

There wasn't much in the game but they had a spell that gave everyone there a lift and things turned in their favour. They deserved their win.

Aberdeen are in better form now than they were then, I watched them against Celtic and thought they were really unlucky not to get anything from the game.

But we know that if we play the way we are capable of playing, and have done a few times this season, that we can win tomorrow.

The players are looking forward to it and I am sure the fans will be looking forward to getting back to Firhill after a few weeks away as well.

We have worked really well this week building up to the game and while Aberdeen have quality all over the pitch, it is about us showing our qualities and doing what we are good at.

If we can do that, there is no reason why we can't get another three points on the board and continue our good start for even longer.
