Tony Andreu was the hero for Hamilton with an equaliser deep into stoppage time against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership.

Two goals in the space of two minutes from Darian MacKinnon and Danny Redmond had put the home side in front, but Thistle managed to restore parity thanks to strikes from Jordan McMillan and James Craigen.

Christie Elliott then thought he had claimed the winner for the visitors, until Andreu salvaged a point for the hosts with the last kick of the game.

Accies headed into this match still sitting at the top of the table but in need of a positive result after suffering back-to-back defeats in league and cup.

They immediately set about piling the pressure on their visitors and Mickael Antoine-Curier was not too far away with an early effort that he screwed just wide.

Partick then had a decent chance of their own when a poor back header from Redmond allowed Kris Doolan through on goal but he was thwarted by a timely clearance from Ziggy Gordon.

But a blistering 78-second spell put Hamilton in the driving seat.

A lovely move saw the home side break the deadlock on 21 minutes when Ali Crawford picked out Dougie Imrie and his lay-off was collected by MacKinnon, who swept home the opener.

Less than two minutes later, the home side doubled their advantage.

Antoine-Curier lobbed into the path of Redmond and he lashed beyond goalkeeper Scott Fox from 10 yards.

To their credit, Thistle refused to crumble and pulled a goal back after 32 minutes.

The ball dropped nicely for McMillan in front of goal and he unleashed a fierce right-footed shot that deflected off Crawford and into the back of the net.

Thistle were almost back on level terms five minutes before the break when Stuart Bannigan fired just over with the rebound after Steven Lawless's own effort was blocked.

Accies tried to regain their grip on the game in the second half and Crawford was just off target with a powerful strike seven minutes after the restart.

Jon Routledge was then thrown into the action for the hosts and almost immediately teed up Andreu for a decent shot that was blocked low by Fox.

The match was thrown wide open when Thistle drew level on 68 minutes, with Lawless slotting into the path of Craigen who dispatched an angled drive past Michael McGovern.

Then, in a superb turnaround, Partick were in front four minutes later. This time Craigen found Elliott and he had plenty of time to pick his spot before smashing home.

Elliott earned himself a booking for whipping his jersey off but the yellow card did little to dampen the celebrations of the player or the jubilant travelling fans.

Just when it looked like Partick would be leaving with all three points, Andreu let loose with a 25-yard snap-shot four minutes into stoppage time.
