ABDUL OSMAN was satisfied with a share of the spoils as Partick Thistle were held to a 2-2 draw by Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Despite Ryan Stevenson firing the Jags into a second-minute lead at Rugby Park, Alan Archibald's side needed a late leveller from Frederic Frans to rescue a point after the home side had scored through Josh Magennis and Manuel Pascali.

It was an opportunity missed for Thistle as they failed to move above Kilmarnock in the Premiership standings and edge closer to the top six.

After a storming 5-0 success over Hamilton last midweek, it was another point to add to their tally, however, and Osman reckons it was a good afternoon's work in Ayrshire.

He said: "Considering the result against Hamilton, I don't think it was a good point, but we will take that away from home. You would take any point away from home, although we had been hoping for a win.

"As a footballer, you always have to look up. We're still trying to hit our targets. We just need to get more wins away from home to get there. But, as I said, it's a point and we'll take it."

After again seeing their ambitions of recording back-to-back top-flight wins ended at the second hurdle, Thistle have turned their attentions to the visit of St Mirren on Friday night.

Victory over the Buddies would give them more breathing space at the foot of the Premiership standings and take them 13 points clear of the Paisley side.

"We'll be back at Firhill and it's always nice to be at home," Osman told ptfc.co.uk

"It's a game we're going into looking for the win. There will be a buzz around the place, it's a winnable game and I'm looking forward to it."
