PARTICK THISTLE have completed the loan signing of Huddersfield defender Jake Carroll.

The 23-year-old has agreed a switch to Firhill until January 5 next year and could make his Jags bow against Aberdeen at Pittodrie this afternoon.

Carroll is the fifth signing boss Alan Archibald has made this summer and will provide competition for youngster Dale Keenan at left-back.

Archibald has been on the look-out for someone to fill the No.3 jersey vacated by Aaron Taylor-Sinclair for weeks. Carroll put pen to paper yesterday.

After starting his career at St Patrick's Athletic, Carroll made a £150,000 move to Huddersfield last April and spent the second half of last season on loan at Bury.

He has now agreed another temporary switch and signed on at Firhill as he looks to help Thistle climb the Premiership standings.
