Doolan has two strikes to his credit already this term and has a chance to put his recent misses against Hibs behind him against Inverness tomorrow afternoon.
Bannigan said: "He is absolutely fine in training. He has missed hundreds of chances before in his career.
"That's what happens to strikers so I don't think he will take it badly.
"He will be looking to put the next one away.
"He has led the scoring in the First Division for the last couple of years so he is a goalscorer and missing doesn't affect him at all.
"Strikers feed off confidence but he scored against St Johnstone which was only two games ago.
"People need to stop criticising strikers and concentrate on the whole team instead."
