STEPHEN O'DONNELL has committed his future to Partick Thistle until the end of the season after turning down a move to Blackpool.

The Championship outfit saw a £30,000 bid for the right-back thrown out earlier this month, but returned to the table on Monday night with a £100,000 offer.

Boss Alan Archibald was determined to hold on to O'Donnell this month, even if it meant losing him for nothing come the end of his contract in the summer, but Thistle felt the cash on offer was too good to turn down.

O'Donnell, who has also been linked with a move to Dundee United, has rejected a move to Bloomfield Road.

And the 22-year-old has ruled out a move during this transfer window as he looks to help the Jags climb the Premiership standings.

O'Donnell said: "It wasn't something that came down to money. My agent spoke to Blackpool and we decided that it just wasn't the right move for me at this time.

"I'm a Partick Thistle player and will be doing everything I can to make sure we finish as far up the table as possible, with the top six still a very real possibility.

"I am happy where I am just now and am incredibly proud every time I pull on the Partick Thistle shirt.

"At this point I don't know what my future holds, but the one thing I am certain of is that I will give my all for Partick Thistle as long as I am a player at the club."
