ABDUL OSMAN is relaxed about his Partick Thistle contract situation as he enters the final few months of his Firhill deal.

The midfielder signed on for one season when he joined the Jags last summer and has impressed for Alan Archibald's side this term.

He has held talks about extending his stay at the club but is happy to focus on his football for now.

Osman said: "I have had a few words with the gaffer and we are still trying to work something out. Hopefully something gets sorted.

"I have enjoyed it here, everything is going well, so why not stay?

"We will see what happens. I am not too concerned.

"I have still got six months left so I can concentrate on my football for the next six months and whenever it gets done it gets done.

"It has been like that throughout my career, my deals are usually done late. That is why I am not too concerned just now.

"If you keep doing the business on the pitch it will happen for you."

Osman has not played for Thistle since the defeat to Motherwell last month but is in line to make his return against St Johnstone this afternoon.

And he can't wait to get back to business as the Jags look to edge closer to the Premiership top six.

Osman said: "A couple of games have been called off and I have been injured so I missed the last game. I am raring to go.

"It has worked out well for me, I have had a good week of training. We have been training hard and everyone is refreshed and looking forward to the game.

"I can only go on when we played them the last time and it is a game I think we should have won. We could only draw but we are going there looking for a win."
