PARTICK THISTLE star Abdul Osman has today committed his future to the club for the new Premiership season.

The midfielder has been one of the standout performers for Alan Archibald's side this term since moving to Firhill last summer.

And the 28-year-old has now handed his boss a huge boost for next term after signing on the dotted line for another twelve months.

The news of Osman's capture will be warmly welcomed by Jags fans and follows the confirmation that Christie Elliott and Callum Booth have also extended their stay with the club.

Elliott put pen-to-paper on a two-year extension to his Firhill deal on Thursday while Booth has agreed a switch along the M8 when his contract with Hibernian expires at the end of the season.

Boss Archibald has wasted little time in getting his business done since Thistle confirmed their Premiership place for a third-straight campaign earlier this month.

Osman was one of his key priorities to keep at the club after a solid season in the middle of the park that has seen him nominated for the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Year prize.

His fellow nominee Steven Lawless is one of several players who are free to speak with other clubs about a switch this summer, with the likes of Scott Fox, Stephen O'Donnell and Conrad Balatoni also in the final weeks of their contracts.
