THE club are putting a lot of effort in to attract fans through the gate this season - and hopefully there is a good crowd for our game with St Mirren tonight.

There is something about a night game, and a Friday game. There is a different feel to it, so hopefully this one will be the same and we can give the fans something to shout about.

Initiatives such as the 'Thistle Big Friday Night Out' will hopefully see more fans coming to the game tonight, and in the future, and it is up to us to give the supporters plenty to cheer.

In our last game at Firhill, we put in one of our best performances of the season and got a terrific 5-0 win over Hamilton. It was thoroughly deserved and hopefully we can repeat that showing tonight.

There is always a good atmosphere at Friday night games, and I am sure St Mirren will bring a good support as well.

I think the atmosphere will add something to the game and I am sure the fans will get right behind us again and push us towards the three points as we look to climb the Premiership table.

We are realistic about where we are. We take each game as it comes and we won't be making any predictions.

First and foremost, we want to be in this league next season and that is the main priority. It is only our second season in the Premiership and, while we think the top six is achievable, at a club like Thistle, you have got to be realistic.

The first aim for us is to stay in this league and then we can keep building and building to become a team that can push on. We are not being negative, certainly not.

The way this league is, there is always talk about top six and bottom six. The first goal is to stay in the league and then we can think about kicking on and becoming a regular fixture in the Premiership.

We have signed Callum Booth and Ryan Finnie ahead of the St Mirren game, and I am confident they will prove to be two good additions to the squad as we look for a strong second half of the season.

Ben Richards-Everton also comes back into the squad following a loan spell at Airdrie, with Liam Lindsay now moving there until the end of the season.

St Mirren will be coming here looking to close the gap and make sure we don't get further away from them.

I think St Mirren are a good team, they have a good squad of players, but they can't seem to get the wins at the moment.

They are playing well and, as they did against Dundee last weekend, they always get chances but they can't seem to take them.

Gary Teale is doing a good job there, he has a good group, and his side play a lot of decent stuff, and how that he will be in charge until the end of the season at least, the players will be wanting to impress.

But it is a home fixture and one we are going into full of confidence as we look to get another win on the board and hopefully send a big Thistle support home happy.
