STUART BANNIGAN reckons Partick Thistle can be proud of their efforts despite suffering late-goal heartache at Tannadice.
Alan Archibald's side were undone by a Nadir Ciftci penalty as Dundee United claimed all three points.
The Jags were left furious at the spot-kick call, with Ciftci in an offside position before being brought down by defender Dan Seaborne.
It was another case of what might have been for Thistle, but Bannigan was pleased with an encouraging performance.
"We gave it a right go," the midfielder told ptfc.co.uk
"I think you can see the way the home fans were responding, they knew the team were under pressure.
"We kept going right at them, but a wee lapse in concentration cost us at the end.
"I'm disappointed to come away with nothing, but proud of the way the boys played.
"I thought the boys were excellent. At times we were on to every second ball.
"Personally, I thought I did okay. I was maybe a bit slack at times, in terms of giving the ball away.
"I'm happy with the effort and determination I gave to the team, just really disappointed with the last 10 minutes and not getting something out of the game."
