LYLE TAYLOR is set to be in contention for Partick Thistle's Premiership fixture with Aberdeen on Saturday after returning to Scotland following his international duty with Montserrat.

The 25-year-old scored on his debut for the Caribbean nation last week as they lost the first leg of a World Cup qualification tie 2-1 to Curacao, who are managed by former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert.

Montserrat, who are ranked 172nd in the world, went into the return fixture on Tuesday evening facing an uphill task in their bid to reach the second round of preliminary ties but gave a good account of themselves as Curacao netted an 87th minute equaliser to draw 2-2 on the night and edge through 4-3 on aggregate.

Having now completed his first two matches for Lenny Hewlett's side, Taylor will arrive back at Firhill today and begin his preparations for the trip to Pittodrie at the weekend and he is expected to return to full training with Alan Archibald's side tomorrow.

The former Falkirk forward has scored twice for Thistle since returning to the club on loan on transfer deadline day but started the final two matches before the international break on the bench as the Jags beat St Johnstone and Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Firhill to move nine points clear of the Premiership relegation play-off zone.
