Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald reckons Rangers will not be too worried about facing his team on Sunday - despite suffering Old Firm humiliation last week.

Pedro Caixinha's Gers were humbled by a record Ibrox defeat to Celtic as they were hammered 5-1.

But Archibald fears that loss will only spark a fired-up Gers outfit to respond when they visit Firhill this weekend.

It will be the team's second meeting in the space of just three weeks after last month's Govan clash saw Rangers claim a comfortable 2-0 win.

And Archibald also admits his team's display was so bad that day that their opponents will believe they have nothing to fear when they face off again.

"Are they a vulnerable Rangers team right now? I don't really know," the Jags boss admitted.

"They have just lost to their greatest rivals and shipped five goals, so they will be hurting.

"So I know they are going to come out and have a right go against us on Sunday.

"We need to be at our best this weekend - we were terrible against them two weeks ago, so I don't think they will be too worried about coming to Firhill, let me put it that way."

Archibald has been nominated for the PFA manager of the year after guiding his side into the top six of the Ladbrokes Premiership for the first time.

But they remain the only top-flight side to have taken nothing off a disjointed Gers line-up this term.

They came close in November when they led 1-0 going into the closing stages - only to be stung by two late Joe Dodoo strikes.

And Archibald does not want to miss out on a result against the Ibrox men again as they meet for the final time this campaign.

He said: "There are only two teams we haven't taken points from this season and that's Aberdeen and Rangers.

"That's something we want to do before the end of the season.

"We'd also like to do it at Firhill in front of our own fans. We missed a great opportunity against Rangers the last time they were here.

"I thought we deserved at least a draw but some poor defending saw us escape with nothing.

"Hopefully we go one better this weekend but we'll need to put on a real performance for our fans to have a chance."
