THE transfer window may be shut for another few months, but there are still some talented players available after failing to earn a new contract over the summer.

Here, we compile a selection of players who starred in the Ladbrokes Premiership last season only to find themselves surplus to requirements.

Would you like to see any of them at your club?

James McFadden

Faddy’s not done just yet, despite spending last season in the dugout rather than on the pitch as assistant manager at Motherwell.

The 34-year-old former Scotland talisman has been training with Queen of the South to keep in shape, after scoring twice in six appearances last term.

Clint Hill

One of the Light Blues’ standout players in a season not many Ibrox regulars will want to remember, the veteran centre-back is on the lookout for a new club at the age of 38.

The former QPR and Crystal Palace man scored six times in 31 games for the Gers last season, including a dramatic late equaliser against Celtic back in March.Glasgow Times:

Stephen Pearson

Another vastly experienced free agent, Pearson is available after leaving Motherwell for the third time at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old former Celtic midfielder notched one goal in 11 outings for ‘Well in 2016/17 before a groin injury ended his campaign in April.

Alex D’Acol

The Brazilian was Accies’ second top scorer last season, finding the net nine times for Martin Canning’s side as they proved their doubters wrong once again by dodging relegation.

At the age of 31 and with sides like Olympiacos and AEK Athens on his CV, the front man could be worth a punt for a Scottish team needing more firepower up front.

Martin Woods

Woods ended a three-year spell with Ross County in the summer after featuring 35 times for Jim McIntyre’s side last season.

The 31-year-old was reported as being close to joining Dundee earlier this summer before having a trial at Motherwell and remains an attractive free agent with over 80 Premiership appearances and a League Cup winners’ medal to his name.

Sean Welsh

The ex-Hibs midfielder left Partick Thistle in the summer after five years at Firhill. Still in his prime at the age of 27, Welsh is a reliable source of creativity having scored five goals and set up another six last season.Glasgow Times:

Kevin Gomis

The centre-back appeared to be something of a coup when he arrived at Dundee from Ligue 1 outfit Nice last summer, but the 28-year-old left Dens Park at the end of his contract.

It was his second spell in British football after a loan move to Nottingham Forest in 2014, with Gomis making 22 appearances last term.
