LIONEL ANSWORTH has slammed Bilel Mohsni as being a ‘sore loser’ with a bad track record after his play-off punch at Lee Erwin.

The former Rangers defender was handed a seven-game ban for attacking the ex-Fir Park forward who pushed him in the back after Well secured their top-flight status with a 6-1 aggregate drubbing.

The flare up sparked angry scenes that resulted in several players, including Ainsworth, also on the receiving end of suspensions.

The unpredictable side of Mohsni’s character is something that didn’t surprise the Motherwell winger after coming across him and his reputation in England.

And the 27-year-old has criticised his antics that saw him also kick Erwin while tussling with others.

“It was players out of contract and sore losers,” reflected Ainsworth, who will sit out Well’s first two games of the new campaign.

“He has got previous. I have played against him many times down south and I also have family that have actually worked with him at Southend and he has so much previous it’s ridiculous. It didn’t surprise me something like that happened in that case.

“His ban could have been even longer. You can choose how you react - that’s what my missus always tells me anyway.

“He was even squaring up to fans afterwards, it was a ridiculous reaction.”
