RANGERS have today reportedly had a bid rejected for Wigan Athletic right-back James Tavernier.
The 23-year-old, who spend six years at Newcastle United, has been a long-time target by the Ibrox club's manager, Mark Warburton.
Tavernier's team-mate, striker Martyn Waghorn, is also wanted by Rangers but at the moment it is believed that only a offer for the defender has been made.
Warburton has already done business with Wigan this summer, central defender Rob Kiernan making a £200,000 move to Glasgow on a two-year deal.
