RANGERS boss Mark Warburton has moved to make Jason Holt the next signing in his Rangers revolution.
The Ibrox club have agreed a training compensation fee with Hearts worth approximately £65,000 for the 22-year-old midfielder and will now negotiate personal terms.
Warburton is also understood to be stepping up his interest in the Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan and is widely tipped to make a concrete offer for his services over the coming days.
Holt, who is a free agent, has been training with Warburton's squad over the past couple of weeks and scored in a 2-0 friendly win over Ayr United at Murray Park last week.
He becomes the seventh first-team signing under Warburton after Danny Wilson, Wes Foderingham, Rob Kiernan, Martyn Waghorn, James Tavernier and Andy Halliday. Jordan Thompson, Tom Lang and Jordan Gibson have also joined the youth set-up with a view to being given first-team experience if they prove their worth.
