WES FODERINGHAM knows he can’t afford to take his eye off the ball if he is to keep playing his part for in-form Rangers this season.

The keeper has enjoyed a solid start to his Ibrox career as he has impressed between the sticks and helped the Light Blues to five straight wins.

Foderingham has often found himself starting attacks from the back as he contributes to the free-flowing passing style favoured by boss Mark Warburton.

And the 24-year-old is determined to keep his standards high to ensure he remains an integral component in the Gers machine.

He said: "I wouldn't say I'm comfortable because there is always someone who wants your shirt.

“I train hard every day and the gaffer has been happy with me. I try and go out there and do my best.

"I think playing for a side like Rangers you are not going to have much to do in terms of saves.

“I'm come from a side where I was making up to eight saves a game, so it's been different for me.

“Concentration is a big part of the game and being a Rangers keeper, it's about dealing with the pressure as well.

“I try and help the boys by dealing with crosses and coming to take whatever comes into the box and distribute as well.

"It's the way the gaffer wants to play and I think it's the right way to play. I've come from a side who played like that too for the past few seasons.

“I've seen how it works and it really does work. I think it's bearing fruit now with the amount of chances we are having at goal. The early signs are good and I hope we can keep that up."

Rangers face Hibernian at Ibrox tomorrow aiming to make it six from six this term and double their advantage over Alan Stubbs’ side in the Championship title race.

The Gers were 6-2 winners at Easter Road on the opening day of the season and have scored 19 goals in their five competitive outings to date.

But Foderingham insists the comfortable cup triumph will have no bearing on the preparations or outcome second time around.

He said: "It means nothing if I'm honest. That was a completely different game. We played well and scored six good goals.

“We know we played well with attacking intensity that day and so we need to show the same intensity on Sunday.

“Hibs made it difficult for us, they pressed really well and when you’re trying to play out from the back if teams sit back it’s easier but they pressed and that makes life harder.

“The main thing was we identified the problems and we rectified that after the half hour mark and everything was good from then on and we went on to win the game.

“Hopefully we can start better this time around and put in a good performance.”

Rangers will once again play in front of a sell-out crowd at Ibrox tomorrow as the Light Blue legions flock to see their side in action.

Fans have snapped up 33,000 season tickets and backed Warburton’s side in their numbers this term.

And former Swindon shot-stopper Foderingham is loving the big match atmosphere on home soil as he prepares for a crucial Championship clash.

He said: “It’s brilliant. These are the games you want to play in as a kid, you want to play in big games and in front of big crowds.

“To have a massive backing like that definitely helps us and spurs us on.

“We want to put in a good performance to send the fans home happy.

“I’ve played in front of 55,000 at Wembley but that’s a larger stadium so the atmosphere was not as good.

“To play at a packed Ibrox is fantastic. At the St Mirren game the atmosphere was brilliant and the team fed off the fans and hopefully it’s the same on Sunday.”
