JASON HOLT reckons patience will be a virtue for Rangers this season as they look to continue their Championship winning run.

Mark Warburton’s side left it late against Falkirk last weekend as they clinched a 3-1 triumph to make it a clean sweep in the first quarter of the league campaign.

Despite Dean Shiels putting the Light Blues in front after just three minutes, it took a James Tavernier free-kick and Lee Wallace strike to secure the points as Will Vaulks’ effort gave the Bairns something to hold on to.

After postponing the Petrofac Training Cup quarter-final tonight due to international call-ups, Rangers are not back in action until the visit of Queen of the South on league duty a week on Saturday.

And midfielder Holt reckons there are lessons that can be learned from the Falkirk triumph that Warburton’s side can put to good use in the coming weeks.

"It was a difficult game," he told RangersTV. "Every game so far has been difficult and the boys had to dig in.

“Getting the two goals late on showed that our fitness levels are paying off and that if we can continue to tire teams down we will eventually get the rewards.

“They are a good side. I thought they came and pressed well and did make it difficult. But if we keep probing and keep going then we will eventually get the rewards in games.

“In games previously, once we have got the first goal we have managed to go on and keep the momentum but it obviously went to 1-1 on Saturday.

“It was important the patience the boys showed and the gaffer is always saying that as well, to be patient and that the chances will come, and we did create chances.

“It was just about being patient and we got the rewards in the end. So we were all happy with that.”
