ROB KIERNAN reckons there is still room for improvement from the new look Rangers rear guard this season.

The Light Blues have conceded just five goals as they have stormed into pole position in the Championship title race and opened up a nine point advantage at the top of the table.

Mark Warburton's side host Queen of the South this weekend aiming to make it ten wins from ten league games this term.

And defender Kiernan is confident he, Danny Wilson and Dominic Ball can continue to impress at the heart of the Ibrox defence in the coming weeks.

“There are things we need to work on and improve, but we are a new team still, and myself, Danny and Dom Ball are fighting each and every week for two spots," he told rangers.co.uk.

“We’re not the finished article yet, but we’re improving every day and we’re getting there. We’re on a good path, so we’ll carry on.”
