MARTYN WAGHORN hopes Rangers can use their late heroics against Queen of the South as a springboard for cup success against Livingston.

The striker clinched a dramatic win for Mark Warburton’s side on Saturday as he headed home a Nathan Oduwa cross to seal a 2-1 win and Rangers’ tenth straight Championship triumph.

A Petrofac Training Cup quarter-final against the Lions is next on the Gers’ agenda tomorrow night at Ibrox.

And Waghorn is determined to keep up the momentum as the Light Blues go in search of another triumph and a last four berth.

He said: “Heads wouldn’t have gone down if we had failed to win.

“We had the set-back against St Johnstone a few weeks ago but we have kicked on since then.

“It will be tough to go the while season unbeaten but at least we still have that record for a bit longer anyway.

“I had a few chances that I maybe should have scored a couple of but to be fair to Queen of the South they played well and on another day we might not have got the win but the boys showed what we are all about by not stopping until the very end.

“We want to go as far as we can in any cup tournament and with it being the quarter-finals the boys will be putting it all in to go as far as we can.

“I have never won a trophy before in my career so I will be going out there to win and get us through to the next round.”
