RANGERS have ended their interest in Manchester City kid George Glendon following a training stint at Murray Park.

The midfielder joined Mark Warburton's side last week as he looked to catch the eye and potentially win a move north of the border.

Rangers bounced back from their first league defeat of the campaign against Hibernian last weekend with a 4-0 win over Alloa on Saturday as a Martyn Waghorn double, James Tavernier free-kick and Nicky Clark header maintained their five point advantage at the top of the Championship standings.

Warburton remains on the outlook for reinforcements to bolster his Light Blues squad for the second half of the Championship campaign and also has one eye on potential recruits for what he hopes will be a shot at the Premiership next season.

But Glendon will not be making the switch to Ibrox after returning to the Etihad Stadium.

Warburton said: "We'll do nothing further with George, he's gone back to Man City.

"He's a good technical player and a good all-round guy as well, but he's gone back to his club."
