MARTYN WAGHORN was frustrated with a sloppy showing from Rangers as Mark Warburton’s side let two points slip through their grasps on Saturday.

The Light Blues were held for the first time on league duty at Ibrox as Morton clinched a deserved 2-2 draw to continue their own impressive run of form.

Despite Kenny Miller giving Rangers a second minute lead, it took a late strike from Waghorn – his 20th of the campaign - to rescue a point for Warburton’s side.

The draw didn’t prove that costly for Rangers at the top of the Championship, with title rivals Hibernian also held as they drew 1-1 at home to Falkirk.

The Gers must quickly pick themselves up from the Ton disappointment, though, with a trip to the Bairns to come this weekend before the crunch Championship clash with Alan Stubbs’ side on December 28.

“It was a bitterly disappointing day for us. We started off really well, but after about five minutes, we couldn’t get a grip of the game and it’s so disappointing,” Waghorn told RangersTV.

“We were sloppy and slow, but it’s over now, and while we showed good character to come back, it shouldn’t take going 2-1 behind to react like that.

“I don’t think us taking our foot off the gas was intentional, and it may just have been psychological thinking it was going to be one of those games for us.

“But, all credit to Morton. They played fantastically well, had a very good game plan to defend and hit on the break.”
