ANDY HALLIDAY admits Rangers can’t afford to make the same mistakes they did against Morton when they face Falkirk and Hibernian in a huge Championship double-header over the next fortnight.

Mark Warburton’s side had to come from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw at Ibrox on Saturday as they dropped points at home on league duty for the first time this term.

Rangers maintained their three point advantage over Hibs at the top of the table after Alan Stubbs’ side left it late to deny the Bairns victory at Easter Road.

The Light Blues face Falkirk on Saturday before hosting their title rivals on December 28 and Halliday is determined to get back to winning ways after a sloppy showing.

He said: “We’ve got two massive games coming up and if we win every game this season then we’ll win the league and that’s the aim.

“Falkirk and Hibs are our two closest rivals and it’s going to be tough but we believe we’ve got enough quality and if we play like we can then I think we’ll get the job done.

“We can’t have lapses in concentration like we did against Morton. We must learn from that and the good thing about making mistakes is that you can learn from them.

“Falkirk have gone under the radar a bit because they’ve only lost to Hibs and ourselves so they’ve picked up a lot of wins and deserve a lot of credit.

“We knew from when they came to Ibrox at the start of the season. We beat them 3-1 but it was 1-1 late in the game and they could have scored with the chances they had so it will be a tough game.

“But we’ve got to get back on and do what we do best and learn from our mistakes.”

It was another poor performance from Rangers as they struggled to break down a determined Ton defence and missed a chance to extend their advantage in the title race.

Despite Kenny Miller heading Warburton’s side into a second minute lead, it took a late Martyn Waghorn effort to clinch a point after a James Tavernier own goal and Stefan McCluskey strike had put Morton within sight of a shock Ibrox triumph.

Boss Warburton held a dressing room inquest with his players after a day to forget for Rangers and midfielder Halliday hopes the home truths will help the Light Blues rediscover their form ahead of a crucial couple of weeks.

He said: “It means nothing that we kept the three point gap at the top. We keep saying every week that we don’t check for the Hibs result.

“We just need to take care of ourselves and if we take three points then we’ll be okay and we didn’t do that on Saturday.

“We must give Morton all the credit, although we’re disappointed to have gifted them two goals. But the individuals have been brilliant this season so we can’t point fingers.

“It was an angry and frustrated dressing room at full time. We had to get a few things out in the air. Things had to be said.

“It was as simple as players getting things off their chest. Things had to be said, we’ve cleared the air and we go on Monday.

“The players do most of the talking in situations like that. The gaffer wants to hear the thoughts from the boys and then he’ll step in if something needs to be said.

“A few things came out but we need to go again because we’re in a title race and we can’t be too down in the dumps because we’re still three points clear at the top.”
