WILL VAULKS is happy for the Championship title battle to be considered a two horse race – even though Falkirk are now just six points off top spot.

The midfielder hit the winner in the 2-1 triumph over leaders Rangers on Saturday as Peter Houston’s side continued their superb run of form.

Hibs’ late victory against Queen of the South means they are now level on points with the Light Blues ahead of their trip to Ibrox next Monday.

And Vaulks insists the Bairns will keep their focus on winning matches – not the second tier crown in the coming weeks.

He said: “We are not even looking at that to be honest. We got a point at Hibs but we should have won the game and to concede with five minutes left was disappointing.

“We are just ticking along. We will leave it to those two to fight it out and we will see where we end up.

“We are not really worried about that. They can go and do what they want and fight it out between themselves. We will just keep winning games and see what happens.

“We won’t be looking at [January] and saying ‘they are bringing in signings’. It is not what our aim was at the start of the season and it is still not.

“It is just to win games and we are doing that. We have lost two games against the two of them and we are undefeated against everyone else.

“If we can keep beating everyone else and keep going then you never know.

“You guys (the Press) are picking up on us a bit more now so I think you should stay quiet and leave us out of it! We don’t mind it.

“It was the same running up to the cup final. Nobody was interested in us until the final, and then they were.

“The less said about us the better I think. The gaffer likes it that way and so do we.

“We believe in ourselves and we will let everyone else talk about those two.”
