RANGERS legend Andy Goram reckons Mark Warburton’s side are ‘three or four’ new players away from challenging at the top of the Premiership next season.

The Light Blues are currently three points clear in the Championship title race as they look to hold off the challenge from Hibernian and clinch their top flight return.

Boss Warburton has already added Accrington Stanley pair Matt Crooks and Josh Windass to his squad for next season, while Maciej Gostomski and Harry Forrester have been handed short-term deals as they look to earn a shot at the Premiership with the Gers.

Goram said: “Nobody can say that the Scottish Premiership isn’t missing Rangers being there.

“With the financial boost Rangers brings to teams in the league, I reckon Hearts and Hibs wouldn’t have been relegated because they would have had more resources to stay up.

“And I reckon if Rangers get promoted into the Premiership, with just three or four new players they will be a challenge to Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts next season.”
