LEE WALLACE is confident Rangers have the quality to clinch the Championship crown this season – even if there are no further arrivals at Ibrox this month.

Boss Mark Warburton remains in the market for further reinforcements before the transfer deadline on Monday night as he looks to bolster his ranks for the title run-in.

Rangers host third-placed Falkirk this afternoon aiming to move ten points clear of the Bairns at the top of the table and extend their lead over Hibernian.

Wallace insists victory for the Gers wouldn’t signal a straight fight between Warburton’s side and Hibs for a place in the Premiership.

And the Light Blues skipper is pleased with the shape Rangers find themselves in as they look for a sixth consecutive win at Ibrox.

He said: "There's still plenty of football to be played and there are still a few days remaining in the transfer window.

“There will be a lot of twists and turns to go. I don't think this game will define first, second or third.

“It's another tough challenge because they took the points off us the last time, but equally they are just another opponent who stands in our way. We're looking forward to the game.

"It's been well documented that Falkirk have just gone about their work quietly and going under the radar. The spotlight has been on ourselves and Hibs.

“But credit to Falkirk and Morton too because they have certainly made life difficult with their style.

“Falkirk carry a threat, but we know if we play to our ability we will be fine. Anything less and that's where we cause ourselves problems.

"There's no concern whatsoever. Of course we are aware at what's going on in terms of who is going where, but we don't look at anyone else apart from ourselves.

“It's all about what we do here. The players I train with and play with will be the guys I speak about.

“If we bring bodies in then great, if not then the squad we have is more than enough to go on and win this league."

After seeing their advantage over Hibs and Falkirk whittled away last year, Rangers have found their form in recent weeks to once again put themselves in a commanding position at the top of the table.

Warburton’s side haven’t dropped a point since losing at Westfield in December and Wallace is pleased their efforts on the training ground are paying off on the park.

He said: "The training has been really consistent - the levels we've hit in the last three or four weeks have been very high and it is up to us to keep going with the continuity.

“We need to do it day in, day out and week in, week out until the end of the season. After that defeat at Falkirk, we got together and we looked at our shape.

“The manager talks a lot about the pitch geography, basically meaning our positions on the pitch and maintaining our shape.

“During that period, the perceived dip, we were losing our shape a bit and becoming easy to play against, certainly on the counter-attack and it's definitely something we have rectified on the training pitch and the analysis room.

“We've got together and we've got sorted out with potential counter-attacks and sorted our shape defensively while we are attacking.

“We all know we can attack because of the amount of goals we have and the amount of possession we have, but it's equally important for us to be defensively structured while we attack.

“So I think we have got that balance and we're looking to take that form on for Saturday."
